Anti cellulite treatment: Know your Options

Majority of adult women and a few men are affected with a condition known as cellulite, wherein the skin becomes dimpled or orange-peel appearance. This condition usually appears in the thigh, butt and hip areas. While many people, regardless of degrees or areas affected, look for the best plastic surgeons to receive recommendations for the best anti-cellulite treatment. Unfortunately, there are no ideal treatments for cellulites.

Cellulite, as described by experts, is due to groups of tissues, which connect to the skin’s muscles.  These groups become tight and compressed because there is fat between the skin and the muscles. This is the reason why most women (and some men) accumulate cellulite from weight gain, genetics and hormonal changes.

Since cellulite became an issue among men and women, anti-cellulite treatments of all kinds emerged from the plastic surgery scene to give hope to the affected people. While there are plenty of anti-cellulite treatments available, most of them have not been proven to eliminate cellulite.

Facts and Fictions of Anti-Cellulite Treatments

Surgical and non-surgical anti-cellulite treatments available provide positive results in reducing unsightly cellulite. However, none of these anti cellulite treatments actually gets rid of cellulite.

Liposuction can be used as an anti-cellulite treatment by inserting a tube into the affected area and sucking up the fatty tissues. While this method can smooth down your skin significantly, it does not guarantee 100% elimination of cellulite.

Two other anti-cellulite treatments are fat injections and lower body (cellulite) lift. Fat injections “fill up” the dimpled space of the cellulite with fat, while lower body lift is a surgical procedure where the thigh, hips and buttocks are lifted to achieve a lesser “orange-peel” appearance. The disadvantage of lower body lift is that it will leave a surgical scar after the operation.

Endermologie is another popular anti-cellulite treatment. This method uses a roller massage to loosen up fats under the cellulite-affected areas. Generally used in conjunction with liposuction, this anti-cellulite treatment can only improve the appearance of you skin temporarily.

Mesotherapy is also used an anti cellulite treatment by injecting a few amounts of homeopathic medicine to break down cellulite, while improving circulation and drainage of toxins. Unfortunately, there are no clinical studies to prove the claims that mesotherapy can “cure” cellulite.

Other anti cellulite treatments in the market includes dietary supplements and “magic lotions or creams” to eliminate cellulite.  Although most of the treatments, both surgical and non-surgical, can give significant improvements to your dimpled skin, there is still no proven, long-term anti cellulite treatment in the market and in the world of cosmetic surgery.

fat loss diet :

I’ve seen too many horror stories of people resorting to liposuction to get rid of fat. There are too many bad doctors out there practicing with inadequate training. If you someone decides to go that route, they should select a board certified plastic surgeon specifically trained in the liposuction procedure. You may pay more, but you will be far better off in the long run.
